Synopsis
(Important out of game note, the synopsis is only what Seraph is knowledgeable about, there are usually missing details in each run unless the members tell him specifically. Those details may be covered in individual reports).
Jasmine “Frosty” Robinson has hired the group (minus Phoenix at the moment) to escort her to Mogadishu. There she will secure the Sextant of the Gods from a person named Lamar who has stolen it from the Draco Foundation. The group met her at Studio 77, in Renton, a very small and exclusive meet up area. All real food, no AR and impeccable service means it is incredibly expensive. They were told that the DF was hiring Jasmine, who in turn hired the group, to retrieve the item. The agreed upon pay was ¥7,000 per day, ¥1,000 per day in per diem and a bonus of ¥30,000 when the sextant was retrieved. The group was paid five days in advance.
In preperation the group retrieved some information about Mogadishu. The Kid met a gentleman named Fast Eddie who was a mercenary in Africa. He learned some tricks while in Africa and was able to secure a guide through a Somali fixer named Tembria. In addition they determined that weapons would be easier to purchase in Mogadishu then to smuggle to, so the group decided to leave everything except pistols and knives. They also talked with Trixy at the Gun to find out what the effect of a trans-orbital flight would do to a mage and especially to Artie. It was determined that it wouldn’t kill Artie but they need to try and keep her unconcious if they do it. Fortunately the trip to Mogadishu would not require that. The trip to Mogadishu was uneventful. They stopped in Philadelphia, then London, Cairo and finally into Mogadishu airport.
Upon arrival Jasmine took the group to the hotel. It was a cement hotel, three stories tall shaped like a horshoe. The main courtyard was walled off from the street and there were several hired locals with AK-97s that obviously worked for the hotel. The group had four connecting rooms, run down and dingy. There they waited for their guide, who arrived a few hours later. Yhat introduced himself, standing maybe four foot tall and 12 years old. He seemed older in the eyes then they would have thought. That is until they heard the RPG/gunfire a few blocks down and noticed that while everyone was wary, it seemed to be a common occurence.
The group had Yhat take them to the market. There they found a virtual cornacopia of weapons, vehicles, and low level magical ingredients. In the weapons market Speed and Jack both were salivating over the Panther Cannons, but they satisfied themselves with some disposable small arms. The extreme amount of choices took Speed by surprise, and promises to return to the market in the future were made. A quick visit to the magical market and the group secured Artie some orichalcum, for whatever purpose she uses it for. After that they paid a visit to the vehicle market and found a wide variety of military vehicles in poor condition. However, with proper care the vehicles could be upgraded. After a lot more salivating Speed chose a van instead of some of the military vehicles.
At the end of the day Yhat’s network of informats had found that Lamar was staying with Yusuf Mohammed Siad, a warlord of no little repute. The warlord was hosting some sort of item auction, and it was believed the Sextant would be put on sale there. Jasmine was able to secure an invitation to the auction and the group prepared to go to the little island that Siad had control of.
This is where the session ended…
